Portuguese

Portuguese is derived from Latin and originated in what is now northern Portugal. It’s spread around the world during the Portuguese colonisations of different areas. Portuguese is one of the fastest growing European languages thanks to its influence and ever growing popularity in African and South American countries expecting to rise to 335 million speakers by 2050.

Portuguese consists of two main groups of dialects, those of the Old World or Europe and those of Brazil commonly referred to European Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese. These two types of Portuguese can vary considerably culturally and in terms of style, particularly with marketing materials.
